He was the one everyone talked about. I could tell as soon as I saw him coming down the country passage. Dick Turpin. You didn’t want to get on the wrong side of him. He’d shot a man dead before, But luckily, no Woman. I was still worried, I had a feeling that he was going to wreck my carriage, so I ordered that we stop, and that I rode the horse back to town, as it would be much faster. I started riding back to town, but I could hear him gaining in me, As he got faster and faster, I got more and more nervous. He obviously thought that I was a weak and feeble woman who would give up her belongings easily, but not me. In town I had been nicknamed Maid Marion, like the one from Robin Hood, because she was tough and a fighter. That was me. Not one to be meddled with. I was drawn out of these thoughts by a hand on my shoulder. I then remembered that we were in Epping Forest, Dick Turpin’s hunting ground. I shuddered in the cold evening air, and turned my head around slowly to see Dick Turpin there on his horse, looking ready to kill me at any moment. But instead of pulling out his gun, He took of his hat and said “I’m not going to hurt you.” I didn’t believe him, I replied “How can I trust you, Dick Turpin?” He looked at me and grinned sarcastically. “Because you, young lady, are not going to be here for very long.”
I looked at him quizzically and said “Why not Mr Turpin” in a way that could be mistaken for Flirting. He smiled and leaned over and whispered in my ear “I’m Letting you go Madam” I nodded “On One condition. You meet me here tomorrow night, and we run away together.” I looked at him with Doubt, but I gave in to my curiosity and whispered “Where shall we go?”
“London, My fair lady, and I shall change my name to John Palmer so I shall not be recognized.”
“As you wish.  I shall see you here tomorrow evening.” I rode off “Oh, and I’m Elizabeth Millington”
“Good-bye Miss Millington!” he shouted as I left. I thought ‘Was that really Dick Turpin? Wanting to run away with me?’ I carried on questioning the evenings events as I rode home to my Cottage. The next evening, My life changed.

I rode to Epping Forest to find Mr Turpin, Now Mr Palmer, waiting for me. I rode over to him and said “Hello Mr Palmer, Shall we go?” He nodded and smiled at me. He said “Anything for you, Miss Millington.” I blushed and whispered “Elizabeth.”
“Anything for you, Elizabeth.” We started riding. I knew I was safe with Mr Turpin, no-one dared go near him. I trusted him though. He smiled whenever I spoke, He blushed when I called him Mr Turpin. I trusted him because he let me go. Then I realised it, I was in love with Dick Turpin. And he was in love with me.
